Signed first edition, first printing hardcover copy of Imperial Twilight: The Story of Karl & Zita of Hungary by Bertita Harding (The Bobbs-Merrill Company, 1939). A hard to find and wonderfully preserved antique book covering the political, family and social lives of the rulers of House of Hapsburg. With illustrations and photographs. Signed and inscribed by author on front free endpaper. Jacket is protected in new archival sleeve but with some rubbing/scuffing to faces and shelf wear around the edges - including creases, chipping and small tears, especially towards bottom edge of back cover. Boards are straight and clean but with corners bumped. Binding is firm and spine is straight. All pages are clean and unmarked though tanned. See photos for condition.
